Austin Aries & Shinsuke Nakamura def. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy
I was kind of hoping this was where Roderick Strong was going to debut. It’s okay, I can wait. Blake & Murphy are just jobbers now. That’s a hell of a fall from grace after being tag champs. The match is just a backdrop to Aries feelings slighted that Nakamura wouldn’t tag him in to get the winning pin. Bliss also walks out on her boys after the match, and then Blake does the same to Murphy. N/A
Carmella def. Peyton Royce
The Full Sail fans a little more into finishing Carmella’s catchphrase for her, but not a lot. Her Thesz Press followed by punches looks real bad and she should stop doing it. I don’t review squashes. N/A
At a house show in Portland, Oregon, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor got into a nutty brawl that ended up drawing out the whole locker room, and even that couldn’t contain them. On Facebook, William Regal announces that the title match at Takeover will be a steel cage match.
Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano def. Danny Burch & Rob Ryzin
This was a longer squash, it was a more entertaining squash, and it was a squash in which Burch & Ryzin got to show that they can look good while not ever being on offense. So I’m giving it a rating because I enjoyed it a lot even though it was totally one-sided. **½
Regal announces that the Revival will get their tag title rematch at Takeover.
Nappa Jax def. Bayley
This was probably a notch or two better than their Takeover match, though I’m basing that comparison solely on my review of that match. I can’t remember it at all, even though I only watched it like two months ago. But it is good to see that Jax has improved in the five months since. ***½
