February 10, 2016 – Orlando, Florida
Nice to have a change of scenery, as the taping is at the CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida. The building holds over 9.000 people and the lower level looks sold out, so one can assume there are a lot more fans here than at a typical Full Sail taping.
Baron Corbin def. Johnny Gargano
Corbin’s jiggly belly button is very distracting. He’s not even chubby, he just has a very expressive and weird belly button. He actually sold a little bit in this match, which made this a more impressive showing than anything I’ve ever seen from him in a singles match. It wasn’t like, good, but it wasn’t bad either. **½
Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley def. Corey Hollis & John Skyler
These guys win, then they lose, then they win, then they lose, then they win. Who cares? I’d rather they focus on the winners from last week than the losers. Lame. Hollis & Skyler have the word “Bruiserweight” on their gear. Did this pre-date Pete Dunne using that as his nickname? I guess it doesn’t matter because these two guys are too small for WWE and even NXT really, and I never say that about anyone. I also never review squashes. N/A
Alexa Bliss def. Cameron
This was not great, but Bliss hit the Sparkle Splash and I love that move. *
Elias Samson def. Jesse Sorenson
Hooboy, Samson’s squashes are boring. N/A
Bayley def. Carmella {NXT Women’s Championship Match}
Carmella spent most of the match basically rag-dolling for Bayley, relying on her completely. Then she hits two suicide dives and the crowd chants, “This is wrestling.” If ever a chant had jumped the shark, it was that chant during this match. The finish was pretty damn sweet though. After the match, Eva Marie and Nia Jax attack Carmella. Bliss tries to make the save, but that doesn’t work, so Asuka has to save the day. Then Asuka lets Bayley know that she’s coming for the title. **¾
