Jason Jordan & Chad Gable def. Steve Cutler & Elias Samson
This was a squash, so it you know how I feel about it, but I will say that Jordan and Gable looked good right out of the gate. N/A
Samoa Joe def. Axel Tischer
Tischer will later become Alexander Wolfe. I’m surprised they put him on TV because he’s jigglier than Kassius Ohno here. I’m guessing they wanted to make Joe look fit by comparison, but 1) Joe is Samoan and it’s expected of him to be huskier and 2) Joe is actually pretty fit compared to other times in his career. He hits the Big Joe Combo for the first time that I’ve noticed in NXT! Anyway, I don’t review squashes, but Joe also debuts the Coquina Clutch here. N/A
They give Baron Corbin a more natural video spotlight. He’s a heel now, ya’ see. This was better than pretty much anything else we’ve seen out of Corbin so far, but the bar is so so so very low.
Speaking of heels, Eva Marie comes to the ramp to announce that she’s making her in-ring debut next week. What about this? Corey Graves corrects her on commentary.
Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy def. Angelo Dawkins & Sawyer Fulton
Three squashes in one show… this main event had better be a doozy. After the match, Bliss hits a Rocket Launcher Sparkle Splash, so this team is clearly more about getting her over than getting the guys over. That’s probably fine. N/A
Sami Zayn and his injured shoulder come to the ring. He’s probably going to be out for the remainder of 2015. But when he comes back he wants revenge on Kevin Owens. He’d have to get through a few other obstacles before getting ot Owens.
At New York ComicCon, William Regal announces a rematch at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn will pit Finn Balor against Owens for the title.
Sasha Banks def. Charlotte {NXT Women’s Championship Match}
Earlier in the show they played a clip from Raw in which Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch had a Shield-style segment on taking out the Bellas and Alicia Fox. I guess we won’t be seeing them here for much longer. And after this match that is just such a fucking bummer because this was unbelievably great. There was so much fire between these two. At one point, Charlotte’s hair extensions came out, so she put Banks in a Figure 4 and whipped her with them. The only drawback I could see was that Charlotte doesn’t really do anything with her face when she’s in a defensive position, so it looks like she’s just thinking about what her next move is going to be. That aside, this was nutty as hell and I loved it. They hug and cry after the match, so that’s probably it for Charlotte in NXT. ****
