April 23, 2015 – Winter Park, Florida
This is the unaired pilot for a 30-minute Saturday morning NXT show aimed at youths. Corey Graves is on commentary with children Tucker and Drew. It looks like this was the only episode they filmed, as the next set of NXT tapings didn’t have any relevant dark matches. But it’s NXT content that I haven’t seen before so here we go.
Bayley def Jessie McKay
I believe that Billie Kay only used this name on one episode of NXT. Bayley was still very gimmicky at this point, looking for hugs and not much else character wise. It works very well for this show’s format. The commentators spend most of the match talking about how there are kangaroos in Australia. Maybe getting an actual children’s show host schooled on wrestling in to replace Graves would have worked here. Not to say that Graves did a bad job; it sounded like he was enjoying working with the kids. This was basically a squash. Bayley hit the Bayley to Belly at 4:11 for the win. *½
Big Cass is seven feet tall. Do you know how many Big Casses it would take to reach the top of the Statue of Liberty? Later, they reveal it’s 43.5 Big Casses. I dug that. Then, PJ Whitaker (a child) interviews Zack Ryder and gets him to admit that he’s no good with the ladies. Then, Beckett Sage, an actual baby, is the NXT fan of the week because he can identify whose theme music is whose. It’s pretty cute.
Kalisto def. Tye Dillinger
The commentators think that Dillinger is a real jerk with terrible hair. “His hair is a nightmare to me,” says Drew. This was too short to be anything, but the kids seemed very entertained. Kalisto hits the Salida del Sol at 3:55 for the win. More like Cry Dillinger, right? I love these kids. **
They advertise Dana Brooke vs. Charlotte and Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze for the next episode, but those matches were never taped.
