April 1, 2015 – Winter Park, Florida
Sami Zayn starts the show by returning to NXT and talking down Kevin Owens. He’s going to cash in his contractual rematch.
Rhyno def. Jesus De Leon
I don’t review squashes. He puts the main eventers on notice after the match. N/A
Bayley def. Emma
Corey Graves says the quiet part out loud when describing this match, “This truly is bizarre.” It’s clear that they were trying to tell a story in which Emma’s goads Bayley into being more of a fighter. What we got was some half-speed, high school theater nonsense that killed the crowd. They have an awkward non-confrontation after the match too. I would almost call this offensively bad. After this, Becky Lynch cuts a sleepy promo in which she officially dissolves her alliance with Sasha Banks and tries to get the term NBexT over. No thanks. ¼*
Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy def. Sin Cara & Kalisto
Eh, this was fine. It was kind of a reader’s digest version of their other matches, and I’m not sure why we needed a third match between these teams, especially a non title one. **¼
Jason Jordan def. Tye Dillinger
The tag team that nobody ever cared about explodes! This was kind of boring, but Jordan’s new offense is at least different from what everyone else is doing. **
Tyler Breeze def. Hideo Itami {2 Out Of 3 Falls Match}
It’s a real shame, but these two have not been able to recapture the thing that made their first match such a treat. The second fall was handled really well, with Breeze pretending to still be knocked out after dropping the first fall and hitting a surprise Beauty Shot. But the rest of the match ranged from blasé to downright sloppy. And as much as I didn’t need more of this match if this was how they were going to work it, 10 minutes is not long enough for this stipulation. **½
