March 4, 2015 – Winter Park, Florida
Alex Riley demands a match with Kevin Owens from William Regal. Regal tells Riley that he has to choose between being a commentator or a wrestler. Riley calls hypocrisy, but Regal says that fighting Cesaro destroyed him and he hasn’t wrestled a match since. Riley has to make a choice. Dude is pretty lousy at both so it’s kind of a push.
Tyler Breeze def. Adam Rose
Rosebud sightings: Akam, Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, and Kona Reeves. This was really just a couple of ball shots and a pinfall. The farce was worth it to see Reeves fence his way through the Rosebuds with his selfie stick. This guy should be Universal Champion.
Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake def. Angelo Dawkins & Sawyer Fulton
Dawkins and Fulton have matching singlets, which is hilarious given where each guy’s gimmick shook out. They really threw a lot of shit at the wall with these two before something stuck. Aside from that the only remarkable thing about this match was Blake’s frog splash spanning half the ring. *
Bayley wishes Charlotte good luck in her match tonight and Charlotte is a jerk to her for no real reason. This dickhead babyface thing isn’t working for Charlotte. Steve Austin wouldn’t pout and storm off when people said things he didn’t like (well, maybe in real life but not on TV), he’d just do something outrageous to them. Charlotte just comes off like a person with social and emotional problems. Emma walks up the Bayley says that being nice didn’t work out for her on Raw, so Bayley should think about that when she’s off being nice to everyone. DON’T DO THIS ANGLE A THIRD TIME PLEASE! Emma brainwashing Bayley to be a heel after Sasha Banks did it to Becky Lynch AND Summer Rae did it to Banks is too much.
Baron Corbin def. Tony Briggs
I don’t review squash matches. The show also doesn’t care about this match, and is more focused on Owens coming out to stare down Riley and then pour water on his head. Riley bugs out but Jason Albert holds him back. N/A
Riley bursts into Regal’s office and quits being a commentator to be a wrestler. Regal agrees to it. CJ Parker, who was there complaining about Solomon Crowe, says rather rightly that he’s the only person to hurt Owens so far when he broke Owens’ nose in his debut match. Regal doesn’t think Riley is ready for Owens, so Riley will settle for Parker.
Solomon Crowe def. Bull Dempsey
The lame nothing headbutt that Crowe used on the indies is now his finisher? What a joke. And can we say goodbye to Dempsey for good yet? ½*
Sasha Banks def. Charlotte {NXT Women’s Championship Match}
This is the first real women’s main event in NXT. This match was the first time you could see Banks was starting to develop into a good wrestler. Up until now she’d been in some solid stuff and was led to a couple of fun bouts by Charlotte. But here she started to hold her own. This match was a little more loosey goosey than their Takeover meetings, but it was more intense and had an awesome finish. ***½
