Simon Gotch & Aiden English def. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy, Konnor & Viktor, Jason Jordan & Tye DIllinger, and Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady [Number One Contenders’ Battle Royal]
Super boring battle royal with a crap finish. Hideo Itami distracted the Ascension, which allowed the Vaudevillains to dump them for the win. And then for the fourth week in a row, the Ascension beats up Itami and nobody makes the save. I’ve never seen someone made such a joke so systematically after making such a big deal out of their debut. Later on, Itami says he’s bringing a friend next week. ½*
Carmella def. Emma
The crowd did not like that decision. All I can say is that this could have been worse… a little worse. *
Bull Dempsey def. Justin Gabriel
Gabriel did a lot of work here to make Dempsey look good, and it was pretty effective. **¼
Baron Corbin def. Tony Briggs
According to the crowd, this ended in 17 seconds. Corbin should thank the fans for inventing something interesting about him. N/A
Marcus Louis def. Sylvester LeFort
I don’t review squashes. Did they expect one of these two to get over after Louis (a heel) beat the crap out of his old buddy (a heel)? N/A
Sami Zayn def. Titus O’Neil
This was better than their first match, proven to me by the fact that I didn’t feel like clawing my eyes out watching it. It wasn’t as good as last week’s main event, but then Adrian Neville is a freak. After the match, Tyler Breeze comes out to draw attention to how similar all the main event heels’ first name sounds. He also says that Zayn won’t get a title shot before him since he’s never beaten him. They’ll have a Takeover rematch next week. **
