January 15, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida
Triple H starts the show and announces that the WWE Network goes live on February 24th. Three days later, NXT will have a live show on the Network, essentially the equivalent of its first Pay-Per-View.
Adrian Neville def. Tyler Breeze
I keep having to resist the urge to type Aiden English when I mean Neville. This was pretty good, but I was expecting more. I think they were expecting more out of themselves as well because this got a decent amount of TV time. Unfortunately, outside of a few really cool sequences this never totally took off. ***¼
CJ Parker def. Jason Jordan
Jordan gets a real entrance, but he still has his jobber haircut. I don’t review squashes. Also, what’s the deal with squashes for guys like Jordan? Short matches aren’t going to get a guy like him over. He’s not Rusev. N/A
Bo Dallas def. Mojo Rawley
I’ve already forgotten the set up for this match. Rawley got to control most of this match until Dallas grabbed on his tights to win the match. I guess Rawley is going to be Dallas’s distraction for a little while. *½
Kofi Kingston def. Alexander Rusev
This was filled with so much nerve hold bullshit that the crowd started doing the wave. The best part about that was the commentators arguing with each other over whether or not they should say that the wave was in support of Kingston. I question having Rusev’s first loss coming from a main roster wrestler. **
