NXT 193

October 30, 2013 – Winter Park, Florida

Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady def. Alexander Rusev & Sylvester LeFort
I guess I’ve been spelling Cass’s name wrong this whole time. Meh. Was this segment meant to be on last week’s show? Where’s the blonde lady? Why is LeFort back in the picture with Rusev? Why aren’t the commentators asking these questions? Rusev gets over on everyone here, beating up and tapping Cass, knocking out Enzo, and turning onto LeFort before leaving with the blonde. On commentary, Regal says Rusev will be World Champion within the year. Regal’s reputation is still tarnished almost 5 years later. *½

Aiden English def. Jason Jordan
Jordan still has his jobber haircut, so this isn’t going to go well for him. I don’t review squashes. The roses being thrown at English after the match and Regal’s fawning admiration are both really nice touches. N/A

Paige def. Summer Rae
This needs to stop now, and forever. It’s been going on for so long and nothing interesting has happened outside of the Sasha Banks heel turn. There’s so much shrieking and screaming until Banks gets booted from ringside after he sees her interfering. I can’t tell if Paige gets blown up in these longer matches or if she’s just bored with wrestling. I suppose if I was stuck in a neverending feud with Rae I’d be bored too. *

Banks attacks right after the bell and Emma makes the save because it wouldn’t be an episode of NXT if this exact same thing didn’t happen every time. Then Emma accidentally levels Paige. Paige gets in her face but Emma says it was an accident.

CJ Parker def. Tyler Breeze
Weird choice to put Parker in the main event one week after he straight jobbed out to Rusev, but NXT booking in 2013 is awful so I’m not sure we should expect any different. The wrong guy went over, but this was a good match and I really needed to see something good after the slog that was this show so far. Parker tries to cut Breeze’s hair after the match but Breeze escapes. ***¼

Next week Kassius Ohno gets a rematch with Luke Harper, despite losing completely clean in their last match and neither of them even appearing on TV since. Harper gets a promo video in which he actually speaks, which is cool, but there’s absolutely no logical reason for this match to happen.
