October 23, 2013 – Winter Park, Florida
Evil Corey Graves starts the show off in a nice suit, apparently abandoning his slimy ways for straight up nefarious ones. Later it will be revealed that Graves was “faking” the grunge thing to stand out, and being clean cut in a suit and leading a purity parade is his real thing. But before he has a chance to explain himself he’s attacked by Adrian Neville.
Sasha Banks def. Emma
This match was a mess and a bore before Paige and Summer Rae got involved, costing Emma the match. I was watching Table for 3 the other day with Nia Jax, Natalya, and Beth Phoenix. Natalya talked about her Takeover match with Charlotte as being a big turning point for the women’s division. I was hoping that she was exaggerating a bit and that it’d happen earlier after the stellar Emma vs. Paige match. But I was wrong and there’s still very little emphasis on the women having great matches. *¾
Rick Victor & Conor O’Brian def. Casey Marin & Tommy Taylor
I like the way the Full Sail fans cheer for jobbers, which started back at the Bo Dallas invitational. I don’t review squashes and I still haven’t seen anything out of the Ascension that helps me understand why they’re still in WWE to this day. N/A
Meanwhile, Sami Zayn isn’t upset that JBL restarted the match when Bo Dallas’s feet were on the ropes last week, but he is mad that JBL didn’t restart the match after Dallas used an expose turnbuckle to pin Zayn. That’s not really the same thing, Sami. Separately, JBL is offended by Zayn’s accusation and says we won’t be seeing Zayn for a while.
Alexander Rusev def. CJ Parker
King of a bummer to see Parker back on jobber duty already. This really just existed to remove Rusev from Sylvester Lefort and put him with a currently-unnamed blonde woman. Later on Breeze attacks Parker, cuts off one of his dreadlocks, and gets his cellphone back. They have a match against each other next week, but Parker and been so devalued that I wonder what the point even is. N/A
Corey Graves def. Adrian Neville
Neville’s trunks getting ripped in the booty was the most interest part of this match, as it was way too much Graves and way too little Neville. Neville tapping out was a real bummer, too, but this clearly isn’t meant to be the end of the feud so it had to go that way. **¾
