Santino Marella & Emma def. Fandango & Summer Rae
Did this need to take up a third of the show? No, but it was a lot of fun and some really quality shtick. Emma and Santino are a fun comedy team. Shock of shocks. **½
Luke Harper def. Kassius Ohno
Ohno is looking slimmed down, as ordered. That was a pretty inauspicious return for Ohno, being allowed only a little offense before being pinned clean in just a few minutes. **
Conor O’Brian & Rick Victor def. Adrian Neville & Corey Graves [NXT Tag Team Championship Match]
As much as I can’t stand the Ascension, it’s not like Graves and Neville were doing anything all with the tag titles. In fact, the first three champion teams have all been completely useless as champs. This was more or less fine. There are three tag teams in NXT and I’m not wild about any of them being champs, so I suppose this is okay. Here’s looking forward to months on end of body scissors. **¾
Bo Dallas def. John Icarino
This is the Bo Dallas Invitational, and if “This Guy” (as dubbed by the crowd, I only learned his ring name because he showed up on another episode and got announced) can beat Dallas here, he’ll get a title shot in two weeks. This Guy is pretty over, just for being not-Dallas. He got a hope spot, which was neat, but lost in like 2 minutes. N/A
Dallas feels great so he invites someone else to challenge him. Leo Kruger and Antonio Cesaro both come out. The two of them fight until Cesaro knocks Kruger from the ring. Dallas does the same to Cesaro. Then some generic luchador comes out to take on Dallas.
El Generico def. Bo Dallas
Generico hits the Helluva Kick in the corner and pins Dallas in less than 10 seconds. Ton Dawson thinks he’s actually El Local because he’s wearing El Local’s mask, but of course it’s Sami Zayn under the match. Predictable stuff, but sometimes predictable is right and good. N/A
