NXT 169

May 15, 2013 – Winter Park, Florida

Natalya def. Summer Rae
This match was bad and the finish, with Paige trying to interfere while Rae was about to be locked in the Sharpshooter, was nonsensical. Everyone involved, including whoever booked that finish, should be embarrassed. ¼*

Bray Wyatt def. Danny Burch
Damn I didn’t realize Burch has been in NXT since 2013. I don’t review squashes. Are we just dropping the Kassius Ohno thing? N/A

In the back, things are not all rosey between Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville. Dallas doesn’t seem fazed or sorry that he cost Neville his tag team titles. He is excited to be a number one contender battle royal in two weeks. Neville throws it back at him by letting him know that he’s in the battle royal too.

Conor O’Brian def. Sakamoto & Briley Pierce [Handicap Match]
Two squashes in one night. Awesome. Did we need two weeks in a row of O’Brian beating up the same dudes? N/A

Big E Langston def. Damien Sandow [NXT Championship Match]
Holy crap, we can now safely say that Langston just wasn’t ready to be champion of anything. He just did not have the stuff to be in a match of this length (around 15 minutes), especially against a guy like Sandow who is far better on the mic than he is in the ring. I can’t say this was offensively bad, but I can say it was painfully boring. That said, it was an appropriate main event for one of the worst episodes of this show yet. It’s a shame too, as it was coming off of two solid weeks in a row. *¼
