Michael McGillicutty def. Bo Dallas
I’m glad they’re getting this match out of the way now, because I’d like them to clear up the title picture. Here’s a photo of their grandfathers together, and here’s a video of their dad’s together. So that’s neat, especially since we know they eventually team up on the main roster. This was a good slugfest between two tough dudes, but not quite a great one. Can we give McGillicutty his title shot now please? ***
Leo Kruger def. Jake Carter
Nothing match. This new Kruger thing isn’t working. *
Ryback def. Aiden English & Francis Remi Dorian [Handicap Match] Was anyone asking for a main roster wrestler to show up and squash two young fellas? Seriously, at this time Ryback was about to headline a WWE PPV against the champion in Hell in a Cell, but he’s on the development show squashing multiple people? Who exactly was part of the segment of the audience that wasn’t watching Raw but was watching NXT and needed convincing to be into Ryback on PPV? The answer is nobody. *¼
Richie Steamboat def. Kassius Ohno
This really hasn’t been more than an annoying midcard feud, so if Ricky Steamboat isn’t involved I’m not sure what it’s doing in the main event. That said, this match was actually pretty great, and for the first time Steamboat came out of a match looking like he might be able to live up to his father’s legacy (spoiler alert: he didn’t). Ohno attacks after the loss and I’m surprisingly looking forward to their next match. ***½
