September 19, 2012 – Winter Park, Florida
Trent Barreta def. Johnny Curtis
That was kinda fun. Curtis sure seems to be in the wilderness right now. **½
Paige def. Alicia Fox
Hey, that wasn’t half bad. I didn’t know that Fox was decent in the ring. Paige is still a little awkward out there, but she seems to be getting the hang of it. It seems like the women’s division is starting to coalesce around Paige, which is better than a lot of the other ladies they had to choose from. **½
Conor O’Brian def. Jimmy Uso
This was just a lot of punchin’ and kickin’ and a bit of Ascension cheatin’ before O’Brian hit his gnarly dropkick finisher. It’s better than his partner’s finisher, that’s for damn sure. **
Michael McGillicutty interviews a Bo Dallas interview backstage and the two get into a brawl. What happened to that Dallas vs. Derrick Bateman issue they were building up for a few weeks?
Kassius Ohno def. Oliver Grey
This is being billed as a sparring session for Ohno. The commentators point out that it’s really just a match and I’ll point out that it’s just another Ohno squash and who cares? Ohno feels the same and has them start a second match, only to beat Grey in a few seconds. Richie Steamboat runs out to make the save. Hopefully they don’t forget about this issue the way they did with Dallas and Bateman. ½*
Seth Rollins def. Rick Victor
I guess Rollins just accepted the match, not the title challenge. The match was solid, but I was expecting more. Well, I was expecting a title defense, and between Rollins more or less steamrolling victor and McGillicutty getting caught up with Dallas it’s really not clear what direction the main event is going in. ***
