Camacho def. Tyson Kidd
The running gimmick of commentator Regal changing the story of how Camacho and Hunico met is hilarious. Kidd started things off by putting on a clinic, but Camacho’s control segment slowed things way down and the interference finish from Michael McGillicutty just outright sucked. Split the difference, I guesses **½
There’s a Justin Gabriel promo where he talks about being in South Africa and then gets confronted by Heath Slater. How are you going to have a South African-focused gimmick with Leo Kruger and not have the two of them interact? Later on, Richie Steamboat and Kruger get into a fight backstage and I just don’t get these pairings.
Bray Wyatt def. Aiden English
If it wasn’t for Wyatt dancing with the semi-unconscious English, I would have forgotten about this match immediately after it ended. Luckily, the introductory squashes seem to be scaling back a little. ½*
Darren Young & Titus O’Neil def. Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso
This was fine. O’Neil was pretty clumsy out there, but Young was able to keep it together. This match is fantastic evidence that WWE’s current model of poaching other companies for the majority of their NXT roster and training them in the WWE style is just worlds more effective than what they were doing back in 2012. **
