Wrestling fans today go crazy for NXT, so I want to learn what it’s all about. NXT rebooted itself with this show, so I’m going to watch all of it starting here.
June 20, 2012 – Winter Park, Florida
Bo Dallas def. Rick Victor
Sometimes, during the first few minutes of a match my mind will wander, and then I’ll refocus when the match kicks into second gear. And while I knew this was going to be a squash, the finish came so early and out of nowhere that I was still thinking about other things when it happened. That’s a sign of a poorly constructed squash. *
Damien Sandow nc. Jason Jordan
Funny to see Jordan in total jobber mode here, knowing that he’d eventually (arguably) surpass what Sandow accomplished. The match never happens because Sandow doesn’t think Jordan is worthy of fighting. N/A
Connor O’Brian & Kenneth Cameron def. Mike Dalton & CJ Parker
I didn’t realize that the Ascension used to be different dudes (or rather, have one different dude). This was just another squash. Future Tyler Breeze never even tagged into the match. ½*
Tyson Kidd def. Michael McGillicutty
Well, it wasn’t Mr. Perfect vs. Bret Hart, but unlike the rest of the show it was a real match, and they built up a nice little bit of drama by the end there. I’m an idiot who is just now realizing how Curtis Axel is a tribute name to his dad and grandpa. Yikes. ***½
