Trent Barreta & Yoshi Tatsu def. Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks
This was fine, just fine. **¼
Percy Watson hosts a Jerry Springer style segment where he brings out everyone involved in the BetaMax drama to talk about what really happened. JTG admits that Johnny Curtis paid JTG to tell Derrick Bateman that Maxine had left with him. Watson’s reactions to the drama are making this tolerable. Maxine comes out and basically says she’s had it with everything related to NXT. Bateman still wants her, so he slugs Curtis and goes after her. Watson revels in Curtis’s comeuppance, so Curtis attacks him. They’ll fight later tonight.
Jey Uso def. JTG
There’s not much happening in this match, so I’ll just point out that Matt Striker has totally lost the throughline of this show and says that Curtis might have just been playing mind games with Bateman so that he could have an edge in the NXT competition. Problem is that Curtis already won his season of NXT and he’s not a contestant on this current, never ending season. *¼
In the back, Bateman vows to marry Maxine. Then Curtis strolls up and sexually assaults Maxine (forces a kiss on her). This stuff look so bad in hindsight (I’m sure it didn’t look awesome at the time).
Johnny Curtis def. Percy Watson
Welp, this was bad. It moved at a snail’s pace and it killed the crowd. ¾*
The angle is very convoluted, but the show ends with a “face off” between Titus O’Neil and Darren Young, seemingly because O’Neil doesn’t want his young fans to think his emotions can get the best of him. O’Neil’s whole shtick is that he won’t let Young make him lose his temper, and then Young makes him lose his temper. And that’s it.
