It turns out that last week, Derrick Bateman snuck into Daniel Bryan’s locker room in burglar attire ahead of the show to tell him what his answers would be to the newlywed challenge, regardless of which questions would be asked. This is fucking hilarious. Bateman is going to be penalized because of it in the trivia challenge tonight. Howard Finkel is brought out as the score to beat, but nobody can beat him.
Ted DiBiase def. Daniel Bryan
Bryan was caught making out with Gail Kim by the Bellas last night on Raw. DiBiase was a bit of a head sink here, but what was really irritating was the pros talking on live mics during the match. I get it, Dolph Ziggler; you’re a heel and this show doesn’t matter. But it’s just annoying. Things picked up in the final third of the match, so while I think it could have been better, I wasn’t mad at it at all. Did DiBiase get a US Title match after this? Todd Grisham calls it a five-star performance, but he needs to chill out. ***
Brodus Clay def. Derrick Bateman, Byron Saxton, and Johnny Curtis {Elimination Match}
Bateman got eliminated right away because the others were mad at him for cheating last week. Saxton went out after Curtis hit both him and Clay with a cool double guillotine legdrop. When it got down to Clay and Curtis it slowed way down, which is a bummer because it was fun up until then. Clay gets to trade pros on the back of this win, and he chooses to dump DiBiase in favor of Alberto Del Rio. **
