November 9, 2010 – Manchester, England
Goldust starts the show by calling out Aksana. He was just trying to help her, and he doesn’t understand why she betrayed him. She has the Million Dollar belt, and all her immigration problems are over now that they’re married. What kind of propaganda nonsense is this to make people think the immigration process is this easy. She’s excited to get half a million dollars when they split the Million Dollar belt in the divorce. Naomi comes out to hate on Aksana for her sweet girl act. Aksana says they would have beaten her with shovels if she’d gone back to Lithuania. I love this angle so hard. Askana asks her pro Goldust for advice. He’s incredulous, and says she should get her butt kicked by Naomi. This is why I hate the mean commentary, because when you just let bad wrestling be bad wrestling and play along with it, you get fun stuff like this weird angle. What’s really annoying about it is that if they’d had Cole be moderately chafed by the show it could have been funny (Michael Cole sleeping is a neat gag), but they beat the drum so hard that it’s just unbearable.
The remaining rookies have an arm wrestling tournament. Kaitlyn wins the thing.
AJ def. Nikki Bella
This was as dull as the last AJ vs. a Bella match, only this time the payoff is that Brie won’t help Nikki cheat, so she loses. Actually, this was worse because the crowd was dead silent and the finish was executed like trash. ½*
Next up is a contest where the rookies guess wrestlers based on their high school photos. AJ wins. The girls are just goofing off during these contests, and it’s a relief that they’re not taking it seriously.
Vickie Guerrero beat Kaitlyn on Smackdown last week, but that has settled nothing and they’re still fighting with each other backstage.
Naomi def. Aksana
Cole and Matthews spend the match admitting they’re being fed their mean lines, but it just makes the production seem that much nastier. The match wasn’t boring, but it was worked at such a flat pace that when the finish came it felt like it was in the middle of a longer segment. *¾
