April 15, 2008 – Greenwich, London
The show started with the announcement that Joey Styles will no longer be a commentator because he’s going to be running the website. He improved a lot since he started two years earlier, and he was replaced by Mike Adamle so this was disastrous.
CM Punk, Jimmy Wang Yang, Kofi Kingston & Shannon Moore def. Deuce, Domino, Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin
This was also Elijah Burke’s last episode. Kington looked great here, and everyone else looked fine I guess. Kingston pinned Deuce with the Trouble in Paradise after a stretch of not much happening. **¾
Backstage, Kane and the Undertaker addressed Chavo Guerrero… by saying they’re going to destroy the Miz & John Morrison. Alright, well that’s dumb. Then Tazz hosted a dance contest featuring Layla, Lena Yada, Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, and Maryse. I have to wonder what these Diva Search Contest contestants were told by their representation before they got caught up in the world of wrestling. Kelly wins the popularity contest… and then nothing happens.
Mike Knox def. Colin Delaney
Armando Estrada changed this from Tommy Dreamer vs. Knox, so he went from being neutral evil to lawful evil. Knox won in seconds. N/A
The Undertaker & Kane def. The Miz & John Morrison
This was fun. The tag champs didn’t look like total goofs, though they also didn’t have any extended periods of being in control. That’s a pretty striking balance, and most of that is thanks to Undertaker being full of energy and commanding such a presence when he was in the ring that the relative one-sidedness of the match was overshadowed. Undertaker pinned Morrison with the Tombstone Piledriver. ***
Chavo Guerrero and his crew weren’t even on his show, and we still didn’t get the name of his new thug associate. How they felt comfortable (and to this day feel comfortable) broadcasting this kind of sloppy programming on cable television is beyond me.
