WWE ECW 26

December 5, 2006 – Charleston, South Carolina

In a video recorded on Sunday, Paul Heyman cries while lamenting Big Show’s title loss at December to Dismember. Show will get his rematch on Tuesday in a traditional wrestling match. I’m fairly certain that Heyman was already riding out his contract at home by the time this show aired.

Rob Van Dam & CM Punk def. Test & Hardcore Holly
They try to play it off like RVD eliminating Punk two nights ago was the same as Test straight up turning on Holly, but it’s just not and it’s lame that Test & Holly are just chill with each other here. Anyway, this match had a good energy but it ended prematurely when Heyman’s security guards attack Punk, drawing the disqualification. Sabu returns and takes them out with chairs. *¾

Tommy Dreamer def. Daivari
So they used the PPV to build to TV, rather than vice versa. What a joke. This lasted like two minutes and was very decisive for Dreamer, but then Great Khali comes out and beats up Dreamer again after the match. *

Big Show says that Bobby Lashley didn’t beat him one on one because it took five other challengers and the elimination chamber to get the title off of him. That’s just not true at all, and if anything Lashley won a handicap match against Test and a very fresh Show to win the belt. The commentators don’t mention it.

Kelly Kelly def. Ariel
This lasted thirty seconds and ended with a bad roll up. After the match, Mike Knox comes out in a suit with roses and asks for forgiveness. Kelly looks as though she’ll take him back, but then he gets worked up and dumps her officially. Then he throws the flowers at her and hits her with his finisher. Tazz gets in the ring but Knox is already walking out so it doesn’t really feel like Tazz is doing anything. ¼*

Bobby Lashley def. Big Show
Show was really fat and injured here, as evidenced by his remarkably slow movement here and at the PPV. Yes, slow even for him. He also could barely take a bump here. Lashley kicking out of the chokeslam and slamming Show twice was kind of fun, but it took a stupid long time to get to that. *¼
