WWE ECW 24

November 21, 2006 – Long Island, New York

Bobby Lashley def. Matt Striker
This lasted all of five seconds, and wasn’t as interesting as Lashley destroying Striker’s classroom gimmicks before the match. N/A

Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy def. Little Guido & Tony Mamaluke
This was the first time the Hardys had teamed in over four years, and Jeff was coming off of a wild ladder match against Johnny Nitro the night before. This seems like a weird place for their reunion. The match is pretty fun if really short, and the crowd is really into it. They probably should have just saved the reunion for the Survivor Series PPV on Sunday, but I dug that it was here. **½

Paul Heyman lets Rob Van Dam know that if he loses in the main event tonight, Hardcore Holly will take his spot in the elimination chamber match.

CM Punk def. Kevin Thorn
Punks spenta  minute getting beat up here, but then Kelly Kelly came out and motivated him to come back and win. The thing was like one minute long. Punk and Kelly brawl with Thorn and Ariel after the match. They hug as Mike Knox watches on from the entrance. What a cuck.

Heyman and Big Show come to the ring for a promo. Show talks about the elimination chamber match happening in two weeks. Meanwhile, there’s a match involving a bunch of ECW guys happening at Survivor Series that hasn’t been mentioned once on this show, and so I won’t be reviewing it. Lashley comes out and fights Show tot the floor. They built it up so that Lashley, Show, and RVD could all conceivably win the elimination chamber match. That should have made for a dramatic match, but (with the caveat that I’ve yet to see the match) it’s a notoriously terrible one instead.

Rob Van Dam def. Hardcore Holly {Extreme Rules Match}
RVD really busted his match to make the last few minutes of this match exciting, but overall this was a far cry from their first match. Points for trying, Rob, but it seems Holly only brings his A-game when he’s bleeding. **¾
