Sandman def. Matt Striker {Singapore Cane on a Pole Match}
I’ve always thought the logic of an object on a pole match is lame; it should be that only the person who retrieves the cane can use it, but that’s pretty much never the case. It’s not the case here, as Striker gets the cane only for Sandman to take control and use it. Then Striker bleeds a little and walks out on the match. Whatever, it was short at least. ½*

CM Punk def. Rene Dupree
This was shorter than their match last week, though Dupree controlled more of the match here. This week, rather than being an excuse for Joey Styles to make dick jokes, this week was an excuse for a Mike Knox run in after the match. Punk fights him off. *

Rob Van Dam is interviewed backstage by a woman named Rebecca who I’m pretty sure is wearing a bathing suit. RVD is getting a non-title rematch against Big Show tonight. Rebecca interviews Show later on, and he’s not worried about the challenge. So much so that if RVD wins, Show will give him a title shot. Then he uses this promo to hype his match at Cyber Sunday. It’s a triple threat between the three brand’s champions, with the fans deciding which title is on the line. Had they chosen the ECW title I would have reviewed that match, but they predictably didn’t so I’m skipping it.

Test def. Balls Mahoney
Test cuts a promo on Hardcore Holly before the match, more or less cementing Holly’s face turn. The match was just a squash for Test. Remember when we spent an entire hour with Mahoney and a bunch of women doing a strip poker bit? Apparently ECW doesn’t care if we remember because aside from a side remark from Tazz there’s no mention of it at all this week. N/A

Sabu def. Shannon Moore
Another squash. Did we need this? There are five matches on this sixty-minutes show. N/A

Rob Van Dam def. Big Show
Test tried to interfere on Show’s behalf here, but that brought out Holly who took out Test and hit Show with a chair. RVD used all that to hit his splash for the win. The match was fine, but just fine. You’d think they were holding back for the eventual title match, but they’d never have a singles match for the title. **½
