March 24, 2019 – Kansas City, Missouri
John Morrison def. Carlito
Morrison tried to bail a couple minutes into the match, but Teddy Long came out and said the WrestleMania match for the Unified Tag Titles will be a Lumberjack Match. He brings out the lumberjacks who walk Morrison back to the ring. So that made this a lumberjack match halfway through Carlito won with the Backstabber at 6:00 (a solid chunk of which was spent in a promo on the ramp). Who would have thought that Miz and Primo would have a better match than Morrison and Carlito? This was less a match and more a promo to set up the stipulation at WrestleMania. *¾
Literally one-quarter of this hour is dedicated to Raw replays and WrestleMania hype.
Tommy Dreamer & Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd
The commentators actually acknowledge that ECW Champion Swagger has been a non-factor on this show for the entire month. They probably should have kept him off or scarce on TV until after WrestleMania, because all he does on that show is act as a lumberjack on the preshow. The Swagger vs. Dreamer portion of this match was a real slow drag, which is a bummer because it was a lot of the match. They tried to play a dirty trick with thirty seconds of Bourne vs. Kidd zipping around at the end, but I’m no fool. Bourne pinned Kidd after hitting the Shooting Star Press at 6:54 (shown). **
MVP hosts his talk show to cap off the episode. He has all the other Money in the Bank competitors as his guests. They each say that they’re going to win at WrestleMania. Then Kane lights the turnbuckles on fire. And the show ends. Were people taking time out of their lives to watch this show live in 2009? I feel so bad for them. I feel bad for myself, too.
