May 27, 2015 – Los Angeles, California
Chavo Guerrero approaches Black Lotus and tells her to get her revenge in the ring rather behind closed doors. Guerrero’s grandfather was there the day Matanza killed Lotus’s parents. Guerreros hate the Cuetos as much as Lotus does.
Johnny Mundo def. Aerostar
Solid little match here to get Mundo back on track after the heel turn. It never felt like Aerostar would win, because Aerostar is going nowhere fast in LU, but dude does the American lucha thing well enough to be good as the opening match enhancement guy. Mundo won in 6:35 with the End of the World. ***
Vampiro interviews Sexy Star. She thinks Pentagon is just a bully and she isn’t afraid of him. She unmasked Super Fly and says she hasn’t heard from him since. He’s in rehab after Pentagon broke his arm. She felt so good when she defeated Pentagon. Vampiro tells Star that Dario Cueto has booked a submission match rematch. Star promises that the issue between them will end next week no matter what.
Prince Puma def. Hernandez {Lucha Underground Championship Match}
This was a really good, hard-fought match. Hernandez started out cocky so Puma smacked him with a chair to block a suicide dive and let him know who he was dealing with. There were some awesome near falls here, as well as two especially fantastic dives from Puma. In the end Puma hit the 630 Senton for the win at 12:46. ***½
Mil Muertes def. Fenix {Death Match}
Muertes had Catrina, black tights, and all three skull luchadors. Vampiro says, “It’s very gothic feeling out here. I don’t know what to do here.” Aren’t you a vampire? Why is this troubling to you? This match had a much more frantic energy than their last match, and was more spot-centric and less violent. Muertes powerbombed Fenix through the roof of some weird utility space, which is just a dope spot I don’t care who you are. The skull luchadors carried Fenix back to the ring where Muertes hit him with the Flatliner for the win at 9:13. Super Muertes is a scary dude, y’all. This show is fun. ***½
Cueto asks the Crew if they have any excuses they want to run by him. Their tails are between their legs. He tells them to pick one man to be punished. Bael gets jumped by his partners and pressed against the bars of Matanza’s cell. Then Matanza kills him. Yep, kills him. He’s dead now. So fatalities are a thing on this show, and not just fake “I’m in a casket for a few weeks” fatalities.
