Cage is upset that Chavo Guerrero stole his medallion, and he complains to Dario Cueto about it. Cueto tells him that if Guerrero is able to put the medallion in the Gift of the Gods Championship, he’ll take Cage’s place in the contender’s match. Cage comes with Cueto to the ring for the medallion ceremony. Texano, Joey Ryan, Siniestro de la Muerte, Aerostar, the Mack, and Sexy Star put their medallions in the belt. Guerrero comes out with a medallion and a chair. He and Cage fight until Cage gets his hand on the medallion… but it’s not the Medallion as Guerrero has put a decoy in the medallion pouch and puts the real thing in the belt. Cage takes out Guerrero, but the damage is done.
Daga def. Argenis and Kobra Moon, and Mascarita Sagrada {Fatal Four Way Match}
This was just here to put over Daga big, as the commentators really only spoke about him, Moon went after him romantically, and the short match mostly highlighted his skill and strength. Sagara took a scary bump against the bottom rope at the hands of Argenis. Moon took out Sagrada with an Island Driver on Sagrada, but then backed off so Daga could hit an elbowdrop for the win at 4:58. Okay then. **
Killshot def. Marty Martinez
Martinez attacked Killshot in the back before the match, but couldn’t land a hit and got punked out in the locker room. This was a little over-ambitious for a midcard match. Did we need a DVD on the apron? Probably not, but it was Martinez who was the victim of it so I’m not so mad. Killshot got the win with the JML Driver at 7:08. Martinez attacked him after the match. It goes on for a very long time, and then Martinez takes Killshot’s dog tags. I guess that explains why the commentators wouldn’t shut up about the tags during the match. ***
Chavo Guerrero def. Texano, Joey Ryan, Siniestro de la Muerte, Aerostar, the Mack, and Sexy Star {Gift of the Gods Championship Seven Way Match}
This was fun. It weaved a few new and old stories together nicely. Things peaked when everyone attacked Guerrero. Cage came out to seemingly do the same, but then he took out everyone else instead. He hit Ryan with an Drill Claw and put Guerrero on top of him for the win at 8:33. Then he told Guerrero that he handed him the match so that he could be the one to take the title from him next week. So we got six minutes of dives and two minutes of a storyline contrivance. I don’t mind that at all, but wish it weren’t in the main event. **¾
The episode ends with Vampiro coaching Pentagon again. He beats Pentagon with a kendo stick and tells him to be quiet. He needs to hide his fear, because nothing compares to what Mil Muertes will do to him, and what Vampiro is about to do to him (with a barbed wire baseball bat).
