Black Lotus is in the trunk of someone’s car, being driven away from the Temple… a week after she was kidnapped? The timeline is fuzzy to say the least.
Aerostar def. Drago
I guess I should settle in because it seems like we’re going to be getting a lot of matches between these two. This was as good as their first match, but I can already tell that these matches are going to provide diminishing returns for me because they’re interchangeable. Aerostar won in 4:56 with a springboard splash. After the match, Dario Cueto announces that Aerostar and Drago will extend their series to a best of five. Here’s hoping they get more than five minutes for at least one of them. **¾
Cage def. Prince Puma
This started out a little sloppy, but they got their shit together and delivered a better match than their first. Cage begins to dominate after Puma misses a big dive. He hits the Weapon X and then pummels Puma until Konnan throws in the towel at 8:41. That’s a great way to protect Puma and get Cage over as a monster. Way better than Cage getting disqualified, and it puts Konnan’s motivations in question. ***¼
Sexy Star doesn’t appreciate Big Ryck saving her from the Crew last week. She wants to run through the Crew on her own. Cueto, who doesn’t want the Crew hurt, books Star against Ryck to see who gets to face the Crew, and he promises Star than no men will come to her rescue.
Pentagon def. Vinnie Massaro
Another Pentagon squash, dedicated to Pentagon’s master. He hits the Pentagon Driver for the win at 1:02. After the match he puts Massaro through a table and dislocates his shoulder. N/A
Johnny Mundo dco. King Cuerno
You’d think they’d do this earlier and Puma vs. Cage in this slot. This took a while to get going, but they built up some nice drama leading to the double count out. Cuerno hit a pair of sick suicide dives, but then got up early and just stood there while he and Mundo got counted out at 7:18. Someone screwed up their cue here. They kept brawling all over the arena after the bell. The finish was very awkward, but they certainly tried… something. **¾
A luchador opens the car trunk we saw at the top of the hour and lets Lotus out, asking her what she knows about lucha libre.
